networking...

I wanted to update earlier, but I forgot my password on here...makes it difficult to update. Anywho. I have now solved that problem :)

So, Kendall has a friend of the family who works for AIG, which is a huge insurance company. Therefore, her friend, we'll call him Joe, receives tickets for art events. He gave us tickets to see the Constable exhibit at Tate Britian in August. Now he has given us tickets to a formal after party at a very high-end auction house. Can you believe it???? I am so excited! Completely nervous but so excited!!!!!! I have to buy a really nice dress, probably some shoes and accessories. It's going to be amazing to meet people and see how the auction world is. I have done the gallery and museum circuit, so to speak. Now I get to experience the auction house! I don't get to view the actual auction, but I am still going to be at an amazing auction house :)

I have no idea what to expect. I feel nervous in "networking" situations for some reason. I have no problem talking to just about anyone, but the idea of 'this is a networking opportunity, Rachel' freaks me out a bit. Unfortunately, I usually say something really dumb or don't say anything at all. I obviously need to get over it. I am in London for crying out loud! I have so many opportunities here.


Speaking of other oppotunities, I am visiting Sotheby's Auction House tomorrow with my school. I am so excited!!!!! I have always watched Cash In The Attic on BBC America. Now I am going to actually be in the auction room!!!! YAY!!!!

I need to go to do research for my essay. I will write again soon! I am actually proud of myself that I have updated within a week :) That's good for me. I have 10 journals sitting at home in the US that have maybe 5 entries in each. haha Typing is so much faster. I love it :)
