Can I Bring My Sleeping Bag?

Today we had a tour of Sotheby's Auction House. Incredible. They had Fabro, Fontana, Warhol, Marini, Hirst, Sol LeWitt, Manzoni, Carl Andre, Dan Flavin, Jeff Koons (his was a Bob Hope bobble head cast in stainless steel. It was awesome! And Kendall and I are going to hear Koons speak at a gallery tomorrow night)...there are many more, but I could on for days.

I loved the space at the auction house, too! I was expecting it to be really crazy, not hung properly, paintings leaning against walls, etc. It is not a gallery, it's an auction house, you know? But it is also Sotheby's :) They had everything hung nicely, labeled, sculptures on freshly painted pedestals, etc. They had multiple floors. All of them were carpeted so you couldn't hear all the women's loud heels or the men's manly dress shoes (I think most "businessmen" here spend more money on shoes and clothes than the women do. They always look so sharp.)

Being at Sotheby's this morning was one of the best experiences of my life. It reminded me of why I decided to come to Sotheby's Institute in the first place. I loved every second and didn't want to leave. I wanted to ask if I could bring my sleeping bag there and just camp out. They had a cafe and nice bathrooms...I could live there :) haha I really did feel "at home". It was so comfortable just walking around, chatting it up with the security guards - I already have friends there :) haha I am definitely applying for the Sotheby's internship this fall. The internship is for next summer, 40 hours of unpaid work a week. Can you imagine what I would learn, though? It would be completely worth it. I really hope I get it. It is extremely competitive. Start praying. Now :) If I don't get it, it will be a good experience with interviewing, too. But I would really like the internship :)

Tomorrow is the Frieze Art Fair in Regent's Park. It occurs every year in October and showcases artists that are really popular at the moment or are about to become popular. Should be interesting!

Take care everyone!

Ohh, the internship sounds awesome! I will pray that it can happen!
I am also still totally serious about coming in the summer. Let me know when you know of anything that I should know. (that was a funny sentence...)
Ok, love you! Miss you! Hope you are learning a lot but still having fun!

Rachel--
Can we please be friends in different continents? Also, can you please e-mail me sometime and post some pictures of yourself? I miss you and I am so happy for you. London is so amazing...I have to go back. One day simply is not nearly enough time.
